“This is an English daguerreotype, likely made in London. The plate is in excellent condition. The seals are intact.”
– Grant Romer
In 2021, this daguerreotype will be examined and scanned at the George Eastman Museum in Rochester after which I expect we will have a high quality image. The above image and the three images of the housing below, were not professionally made.

Born in 1804, Benjamin Disraeli was 38 years old in 1842, 174 years ago, the approximate date of this daguerreotype, his earliest known and earliest likely, photographic likeness.
This is a very high quality 9th plate daguerreotype in near pristine condition.
