Unquestionably, the sitter is Lincoln.  A critical area of the image is distorted.

Few people seeing this image would realize the sitter is Abraham Lincoln.

At the earliest opportunity, this daguerreotype will be examined by technicians at the George Eastman Museum in Rochester, New York, after which the full details will be published on this site.
